Back to Ice Sports

Everyone remembers the moment that Australian winter olympic gold medallist Steven Bradbury crossed the line to take gold at the 2002 winter olympics and become our first ever gold medallist at any winter event. If you've ever been dreaming of taking to the ice and flying around the circuit at top speed, then our speed skating sessions at Xtreme Ice Arena are just for you.

Xtreme Ice Arena is the home of the Western Flames Ice Racing Club which has been running for many years now, although only recently became active again after a long hiatus. We are very proud of being the home of speed skating in Western Australia

What you will need

Due to the nature of the sport, there are potential risks involved.

All skaters are required to wear protective items.
Initially you will require:

A hard shell bicycle helmet

It is essential that you wear these protective items while on the ice.

There is protective cushioning around the edges of the rink to provide added protection.

If you have any questions about safety or what you will require to bring to each session please don't hesitate to contact us or ask someone on the day.
